Volunteer Coordinator - Senior Clerk

Reporting to the Volunteer Coordinator Supervisor with oversite by the Council on Aging (COA) Director, assumes overall responsibility for coordinating the COA’s volunteer services program including recruiting, scheduling, training, and daily oversight of volunteers and Senior Property Tax Workoff participants.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as a COA staff member responsible for recruiting of volunteers for nutrition, transportation, and reception as well as any other volunteers needed as determined by the COA Director or staff. Duties also include maintaining statistics, working with staff to understand and assess volunteer needs and generate appropriate volunteer opportunities based on these needs, promoting volunteering through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns. Job duties also include training volunteers for their positions, organizing volunteer recognition events, and entering information into the “MySeniorCenter” database. Post high school degree with major course work in gerontology, social work or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience and working with the public, especially the elder population preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent computer skills are required.
