Beverly|McLean Workshop|Communicating Expectations & Limits

Thursday, December 3, 2026 (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) (EST)

Description

Senior Centers strive to be places of inclusion, connection, and support, but challenging interactions, disruptive behaviors, and misaligned expectations can leave staff and volunteers feeling frustrated or unsure of how to respond. Join McLean Hospital presenters Marie Clouqueur, LICSW, and Joanna Georgakas, MD, for a practical workshop focused on building confidence, communicating expectations clearly, and setting consistent limits that support a positive community.

Participants will leave with practical strategies they can use immediately to identify barriers to setting limits, establish clear and reinforceable expectations, and navigate challenging interactions with greater confidence and flexibility.

You do not need to have attended the previous Compassionate Boundaries workshop to participate! This session is open to all Senior Center staff and volunteers, regardless of role or prior training. For those who attended Compassionate Boundaries, this workshop will build on those concepts and offer additional tools for putting them into practice.

Application for social work continuing education credits has been submitted. Please contact us at Andrea@mcoaonline.org for the status of social work CE accreditation.
